On August 23, 2007, the Ramanagara district, which includes the taluks of Ramanagara, Channapatna, Kanakapura, and Magadi, was separated from the former Bengaluru Rural district.

Ramanagara, also known as Silk Town and Silk City, is well known for its sericulture.

These hills were the location of the shooting for the well-known Hindi movie SHOLAY, hence the name Sholay Hills.

Asia’s largest market, Ramanagar district, is known for its cultural events and traditional toys.

How to reach to Ramnagara

From Bangalore its hardly 80-90 KM .

You can go by Bike, Car or public transport.

What are things to do?

There are temples and rocks. You can visit temple and do trekking  but for trekking go little early and try to do in light. There are many cycle and other events organised by different groups from Bangalore. 

Also the rocks so beautiful that you can enjoy the scenic view and enjoy the nature.

There are many big rocks, on which one can reach to the peak and view the surroundings. 

Its bests place for the person who likes natural beauty and photography.

Photos on early sunrise and sunset and awesome. You can improve your photography by just visiting this place.

There are many moments to capture.

What else can be done?

This is one the best spot for picnic. I have been there with family and enjoyed a lot. I have noticed that people are coming with cooking items and preparing the food here and enjoy the nature with delicious cooked food.

Important things to keep in mind before visiting this place.

1. There are not enough shop for buying the things near by.

2. Carry items to eat and some snacks and water bottle

3. In some cases you might find someone is selling some items to eat and drink but sometime you wont find.

4. If you want something then you have to go back 3-4 km below in town to get something.

Best time to visit:

1. Anyday is fine when ever you get some time.

2. I would suggest Try to visit over the weekend because there are lot of people and you will feel confident

3. If you dont like crowed then visit on weekdays.
