We are going to discuss Top cleaning items for your car at home. All are DIY yourself products. DIY your ceramic coating, waxing, micro fiber cloths etc.
Above are the products which i would recommend for everyone.
Should we do Ceramic/PPF coating?
Answer is Yes & No.
Yes for Dark colour cars it works well.
No for white/Silver cars. It doesn’t give as good result as it gives in Dark colours.
In case of Dark colour, Should we go for it?
Ceramic:
It depends upon the services offered by dealer and price. If it is within 25 K with 3-5 years of warranty and regular free checkups and correction then you can go ahead and do the Ceramic.
PPF:
I won’t suggest ppf for any car at all. It’s waste of money and the cost is too high. You can paint your car 3 times on the cost of PPF. I know some people will say that it won’t match exactly to the factory paint. I agree.
However PPF only saves from minor scratches and if it is more, its double effort and money to fix that. First you need to remove the ppf from that panel then correct/repaint it. Repainting the whole body vs repainting a panel is same. It’s not a factory paint and finish is not possible to match 100%.
What should we do to keep car clean and shining?
I would suggest try below method. You can adjust the frequency based on your usages.
I Generally follow for My Tata Safari 2022.
- Every 1 to 1.5 months based on condition, Get it full body washed from local washing centre. Full body wash includes – Vacuum, under Chassis wash, Outer body wash, Dashboard, Tyre and plastic polish.
- Every alternate week, Clean the car your self or ask someone to clean with water and below products. Make sure you or your cleaner is using clean clothes.
Wash your car with blow items in order:
- First, Use pressure pump or bucket and put normal water without any shampoo or something
- Wait for 5 min or so that Dust or mud has observed the water
- Now Take clothe(micro fiber) and clean all the dust and mud, remove it carefully.
- Put water again after removing all the dust and mud
- Now In half bucket water put around 30-50 ml of Wax and Ceramic Shampoo Car wash and 20-30 ml of 3M Car Shampoo
- Use above mixure of shampoo and apply all over the car using Clean with fresh micro fiber clothe.
- Rub it carefully and clean it.
- Put water again and clean the car with another dry micro fiber clothe and wait for 5-10 min for drying the car.
- Apply 3M Wax given as part of 3M car care kit Check above image.
- Take some drops in fresh dry micro fiber cloth and apply all over the places in the car. Do not apply in plastic.
- After that rub with same micro fiber cloth to get the shine
- Use Plastic, Tyre and Dashboard shiner given as part of 3M car care KIT and apply all over respective places in the car using microfiber cloth.
